Welcome to the online resource for Harwood Center, an early intervention agency for children with special needs!

Founded in 1957, Harwood Center is located in Memphis, TN and provides services to children birth to three years of age with developmental disabilities and support to their families in the Mid-South. Our students, with diagnoses such as autism spectrum disorders, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, visual and hearing impairments, spina bifida, and other developmental delays, receive year-round, individualized educational services through our center-based, community-based, and home programs.  Harwood is the only agency in Shelby and surrounding counties funded by the Tennessee Department of Education to provide specialized programs for children under three with autism spectrum disorders. These services are provided at no cost to eligible families.
